Collection: Paraboot
Born into a family of poor peasants, Rémi Richard became a worker in a shoe workshop in Izeaux. This small village in Isère was specialized in leather shoes at the time. Very quickly, Rémi Richard realizes that resellers earn a lot of money. He therefore decides to go to Paris to try his luck with his own models. Banco: in 1908, he set up his business by having his leather shoes made by the workshop of his former boss! The shoes then bear the Extra mark. In 1926, Rémi Richard traveled to the United States and discovered rubber. This is a revelation for him: until now, the soles of the shoes were made of wood, very heavy and hard. On his return in 1927, he registered the name Paraboot (like Para, the Brazilian port from which he imported rubber, and boot, which means shoe in English). Positioned on the top of the range, Paraboot shoes are still sewn by hand in Isère.
